Students using this guide are encouraged to experiment with the piano pedals in order to properly understand their function; they are also led through exercises that focus on constant awareness of “middle C.” WebbI thought the book was enjoyable and some of the themes and messages really ring true today. It definitely isn't his most well-written book, which is to be expected since it's his first. But it does show his voice and black humor tone that comes through in his later, more well-known novels.
